Student Pad 1.2 is available on AppStore

Today is a big day for Epsilon. Our beloved product, Student Pad has come up with version 1.2 on AppStore here http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/student-pad/id431041340?mt=8.

Version 1.1 is a big hit. We have managed to be on the top of several AppStores, including the UK, and be featured by Apple. Several components of Student Pad is complimented by many prestigious app reviewing website, such as AppAdvice, AppGenius, TCGeeks, iPadItalia, and many others ^^

More than that, we are excited to received tons of emails from our customers who download, use, feedback and suggest on the products. Nothing make us happier than in the midst of the coding and received emails such as: "I love iCourse, great job!" or "Student Pad is very convenient for the purpose of having a lot of writings, notes and organize them".

So what is new in this version 1.2? We have finally finished the functionality that iPad uses are waiting for so long: ability to highlight and sketch directly on the PDF books. Being inspired by a comment on NYTimes 2 months ago, we believe that our solution perfectly fit what is missed in the market right now: "I think the publishers undervalue a student's desire to highlight and otherwise markup his or her textbook. If I could take notes in the margins on my e-textbook and flip *very* quickly through pages, sections and chapters, then I would likely ditch hard textbooks for good, especially those outside my major and ones I don't think I'll ever reference again in the future."

Personally, this is also what we have experienced at schools. Reading books, especially financial, academic or reference books are not like reading novels: users need the capability to highlight important ideas, markup a chart on the book, or write down some main points which come out of his mind while reading. I bet you won't like the feeling that you've just forgot a *million dollar idea* while reading a book several days ago, just because you had nothing to note it down at that time, right? And not only books. Think about lecture notes or slides: taking notes during lectures give you an advantage during the exams ;)

Aside from highlighting or sketching directly on your book, if you are a tidy person, you can use the built-in post-it note available on every page, which you can type, draw or doodle. It's fun, isn't it?

Ultimately, our goal is not only the number of users download Student Pad, but the number of
people use it as a part of their school-life or their works. Maybe we are ambitious, but we are aiming for the day when Student Pad is a must-have app for modern students from Primary School to PhD Courses. We want to transfer the way students in the 21st century learn, just as how PCs do with students in the 20th century.

In order to reach that level, we have a long road ahead to go. Each modules in Student Pad, including My Library, My Course, and My Tools need to be improved, so that students can find it 100% comfortable when bring only their iPad (and not their textbooks, notebooks, calculators, and the like) to schools everyday. We are more than happy if you can suggest what you really need (and what you think is redundant in the current version, if any) to us. We can only improve ourselves with you guys beside us :)

Ah, one more thing: we have received a request from a US School to build a customized version for them. It should be nice. We are more than happy to customize the app to be exclusively used for your organization, so just feel free to drop me an email at sales@epsilon-mobile.com ;)
